JUST IN: ASUU CALLS OFF SIX MONTHS OLD STRIKE. The strike is finally over! As widely expected, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) yesterday called off its almost six months-old strike after exhaustive deliberations during its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held at the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, the Niger State capital. A source at the Presidency in Abuja said government had been made aware of the happy development. Since Christmas is already on the way, we believe most schools may wait till January before resuming. The Minna meeting was called to ratify the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed last Wednesday between the ASUU leadership and the Federal Government. GAS EXPLOSION IN LAGOS STATE, (16) INJURED,(5) KILLED AND SOME PROPERTIES DAMAGED.

GAS EXPLOSION IN LAGOS STATE KILLED ATLEAST FIVE (5) PERSONS A gas EXPLOSION  has occurred in the baruwa area of Ipaja in Lagos State Nigeria. The incident occurred at exactly 6:00 am on Thursday morning. Immediately the Lagos State emergency Management agency, LASEMA confirmed the development on Twitter. It's said emergency response has been activated. In a statement, Nosa Okunbor, LASEMA spokesman, said investigation revealed that a gas station belonging to Best Roof Cooking Gas exploded burning buildings around it. He said though the cause of the explosion is yet to be ascertained, four persons died while several others were injured. Okunbor said various agencies have been deployed at the scene of the inferno to prevent a further spread of the fire. On arrival at the scene of incident it was observed that there was a gas explosion at the aforementioned location,” he said. A MAN NAMED KWAKYE KILLED HIMSELF AND HE'S GIRLFRIEND OVER NOTHING. Georgina KWAKYE A taxi man named KWAKYE , stabbed he's girlfriend( Georgina)  to death and hanged himself to death after killing her. According to the story KWAKYE trained his girlfriend to university Level. After graduation Georgina dumped him, as she believes there are no longer in the same level. This broke KWAKYE heart and throws him into frustration , instead of him to move on he took he's own life after he's girlfriend bluntly rejected and vowed never to accept him back. Resumption of schools, 5th October 2020

JUST IN THE RIVER STATE GOVERNMENT MADE AN ANNOUNCEMENT OVER THE RESUMPTION OF SCHOOL. Due to the outbreak and delay of the pandemic ( Corona Virus) earlier 2020, which caused schools , home and abroad to vacate hostels and campuses and kept school on hold till further notice. Within these period of time , the Federal Government of Nigeria has been making relentless effort to see through the opening of nursery, primary, secondary and tertiary schools. Buh all to no avail due to the continuous and second phase of the pandemic. In July the Federal Government made an announcement for school resumption , ASUU refused to abide by the announcement and said if their needs are not met , then the schools on strike before the Corona Virus pandemic won't resume. Due to that refusal school resumption was delayed , not until Federal Government of Nigeria met the needs of ASUU and advised schools which are eager and ready to resume to make necessary arrangements to cub the continual ...
