Resumption of schools, 5th October 2020
JUST IN THE RIVER STATE GOVERNMENT
MADE AN ANNOUNCEMENT OVER THE RESUMPTION OF SCHOOL.
Due to the outbreak and delay of the pandemic ( Corona Virus) earlier 2020, which caused schools , home and abroad to vacate hostels and campuses and kept school on hold till further notice.
Within these period of time , the Federal Government of Nigeria has been making relentless effort to see through the opening of nursery, primary, secondary and tertiary schools. Buh all to no avail due to the continuous and second phase of the pandemic.
In July the Federal Government made an announcement for school resumption , ASUU refused to abide by the announcement and said if their needs are not met , then the schools on strike before the Corona Virus pandemic won't resume.
Due to that refusal school resumption was delayed , not until Federal Government of Nigeria met the needs of ASUU and advised schools which are eager and ready to resume to make necessary arrangements to cub the continual spread of the virus amongs students.
Just in: The Federal Government of Nigeria announced that all schools that met the requirements to cub the spread of the virus can resume schools.
With that the Governor of River State in person of Nyesom wike , made an announcement on the Thursday the 24th of September 2020 , that tertiary SCHOOLS in the state can now resume , but primary, secondary, oil mill market, bars, and night clubs are to remain closed.
